Someone showed me Spore on youtube about a year ago. I saw someone mention it on another vid on youtube so i decided to check up on it. It is supposed to be comin out some time in september this year.

Spore is a cross between RPG and strategy. Basically what your doing is creating your own species and evolving it. You can change its body shape, add stingers or other weapons and modify how it walks and attacks.

At first you start as a tiny 2D organism eating things and running away from things a bit like pac-man.

Then things go 3D and you start to swim around in the ocean, but apart from that there isnt much change from the 2D stage.

Now things get interesting. After a while you get to go out on land and start actually hunting small things (and getting hunted by bigger things). Eventually you find another of your species and mate

Now RPG is ditched and strategy becomes the game style. You get to command a small village of your creatures, building buildings for them, giving them weapons and still evolving them all the time...

.. nd of course there are neighboring tribes to either trade with or pwn . Eventually you will have conquerred the world mwahahaha!

And does it stop there? Hell no! Now you can build a spaceship and travel to other planets, creating volcanoes on uninhabitable planets, to make an atmosphere, and then colonising it. Or indeed if the planet is already colonised then the spaceship has a handy array of missiles .
